Gabriel García Márquez, Gregory Rabassa (translation)Translated by Gregory Rabassa, winner of the National Book Award for Translation for Julio Cortázar's Hopscotch (Rayuela), 1967
In 1966, Gregory Rabassa won the first National Book Award to recognize the work of a translator, for his English-language edition of Hopscotch.
